New Travel Updates for 2025
Entry/Exit System (EES)
The new Entry/Exit System (EES) will start operations on 12 October 2025. European countries using the EES will introduce the system gradually at their external borders. This means that data collection will be gradually introduced at border crossing points with full implementation by 10 April 2026. For more information https://travel-europe.europa.eu/ees##
REAL ID
On May 7, 2025, U.S. travelers must be REAL ID compliant to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities.
Passport Renewal Online
Not New in 2025 but a good reminder
You can now renew your passport online. It is a good time to double check your passport expiration date. Most destinations require you to have 3- 6 months validity beyond your planned date of departure.
United Kingdom ETA
Effective January 8, 2025, all U.S. citizens transiting through or traveling to the United Kingdom for tourism, family visits, business meetings, conferences, or short-term study for 6 months or less will require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior to travel.
The fastest way to apply is using the UK ETA app.
